"Reports of alcohol-related harms are not trivial. Indeed, the 10% of students who report such consequences represent some 64,000 students."

Attendance at College and University represents an exciting phase in the development of Canada 's young adults. However, it also often represents the first time that students will live separately from their families. This kind of independence can be daunting as students struggle to manage the demands of new curriculum, the desire to fit in and the freedom from family restrictions.

Fast Facts1:

  • rates of binge drinking and psychological distress among Canadian students remains high—32% of undergraduates reported patterns of harmful drinking
  • 10% of those surveyed reporting alcohol-related assault
  • 9.8% of those surveyed reporting alcohol-related sexual harassment
  • 14.1% of those surveyed reporting that they had experienced unplanned sexual relations due to alcohol

Ladybug's Know Your AQ™ Campus Program can assist your campus in playing a larger role in managing the presence of alcohol on campus. We will introduce students to the concept of self-titration or "self dosing" —being cognizant of how much "substance" one has administered to oneself.

Because Know Your AQ advocates a low-BAC (blood alcohol content), not a no-BAC , educational format, this is the only program of its kind that equips students with an experiential basis for understanding the impact of alcohol. Ladybug believes that alcohol education and awareness needs to adopt this experiential paradigm in order to bring about the next significant reduction in alcohol misuse and have an impact on our youth.

We invite you to be one of Canada 's social leaders and contact us for more information.
