Ladybug is a reflection of its team's head for business and heart for humanity. Building on a strong entrepreneurial spirit, the Ladybug team relies on its experience in the high tech sector to help break down the traditional technology barriers posed in the not-for-profit realm.

Sherry Colbourne - CEO
Sherry is both a social entrepreneur and business professional with a broad range of experience gained through 20+ years in the high tech sector.She started her career in the field of contracts management for a Canadian-based designer and manufacturer of space hardware subsystems. Working with an international portfolio of communications, space science, remote sensing and military customers, Sherry developed these relationships into long-term customer partnerships.

After ten years in large-scale high tech, Sherry sought a more grass-roots experience offered by a small technology start-up and applied her extensive relationship management skills to developing strategic business relationships across the organization. Since that time, Sherry has assisted a variety of companies in developing strategic partnerships that improve return on investment and speed market penetration.

As the founder of Ladybug Teknologies Inc., Sherry combines her fascination of technology and innovation with more broad-reaching social causes. She has served on several community-focused Boards and has been an active volunteer to many organizations over the past 15 years.

Christine Montag - COO
Calling on 10 years experience in the finance and administrative disciplines, Chris Montag specializes in the financing of start-up businesses and turn-around opportunities.

A consummate entrepreneur, Chris has been an independent consultant for the past 3 years. Most recently, Chris served as CFO for a mid-sized cable contract services company and directed its refinancing through private equity. In addition, Chris is founder of an energy savings company primarily focused on the industrial markets. Chris has a strong understanding of operations gained through translating business strategies into operational tactics. Chris has both private as well as public sector expertise and holds her CMA designation.

As co-founder of Ladybug Technologies, Chris will apply her strong financial and operational talent to the development of this social entrepreneurial company and direct its growth in order to carry out its mandate of social change.

Advisory Board

Ladybug established its Advisory Board to support the Company's ongoing efforts by providing feedback and expert advice on issues relating to business development, emergent social issues, marketing strategies and program management. Ladybug's Advisory Board comprises several widely regarded experts individuals working in a variety of alcohol-related fields:

Douglas J. Beirness

Douglas Beirness, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Associate with the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse and President of Beirness and Associates, Inc.  He is a  member of several committees, including the U.S. Transportation Research Board Committee on Alcohol, Drugs and Transportation and the International Council on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety (ICADTS). His research on impaired driving, the development of high-risk lifestyles, and the perception of intoxication and impairment has appeared in several medical, health, and road safety journals. Douglas holds an M.A.Sc. in Addictions and received his Ph.D. in psychology, specializing in alcohol studies, from the University of Waterloo .

James G. Wigmore

Forensic Alcohol Toxicologist, James Wigmore, BSc, served as a member of the Alcohol Test Committee, the sole advisor to the federal Minister of Justice on breath and blood alcohol testing, from 1993 to 2005. After twenty-nine years, James retired as a Senior Scientist from the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto . He is a recipient of the prestigious Derome Award—recognizing outstanding contributions in the field of forensic science—and is a designated analyst under section 254(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Also an accomplished expert witness, James has testified in over 600 criminal trials and has published numerous studies. James obtained his honors BSc from the University of Toronto in 1980.
